Group Project Assignment to Compare and Contrast Google and Apple companies:
My part of the paper is to compare and contrast:

Instructions below:
In groups of 4-members, students will complete a three- part project. The goal of this project is to apply course learning to analyze and compare / contrast two organizations within the same industry (for example, In-N-Out and Five Guys or ULV and La Sierra University, Verizon and T-Moblie, Chase Bank and Wells Fargo, NBA and WNBA, NBA and NFL, etc). Students will prepare a research paper and powerpoint presentation which will be due in Week 8 and represent the “final” for this class. Presentations will last approximately 15-20mins schedule for our last zoom session.
Students will identify TWO well-known organizations within the SAME industry (for example, Walmart and Target, Nike and Addidas, Tik Tok and Instagram, Kaiser and Blue Sheild, etc.). The organizations can be private, public or not for profit. However, for researchs purposes, they should be well enough known to have a large enough presence online for research purposes (website, glassdoor.com account, goggle articles available). Be sure to do a quick google search for each organization beforehand.
Students will then conduct research on both organizations across multiple OB aspects as a way to compare and contrast the organizations.
• In part I, students will cover each organization separately providing a profile of each organizations.
• In Part II, students will analyze FOUR main differences between both organizations (discussing in detail the differences).
• In Part III, students will identify which organizational practice being analyzed is the best representation on an industry standard or best practice.
Students will conduct research on both organizations as a way to compare and contrast the following OB aspects:

• Decision Making and Span of Control (Power)

• Talent Management (recruiting and retaining talent)
• COVID impact / response
Be sure to include a general introduction for your paper stating the purpose and intent of the research paper. Also, be sure to provide a strong conclusion at the end of your paper discussing key takeaways of the paper. You paper must be a minimum of 12-15 pages long (this is an average of 3-4 pages per person in a group of 4 members). You paper must have at least 4-5 sources for each organization, plus 4-5 sources supporting / justifying the “industry standard” or “best practice” in Part III.
