Read the Experiential Exercise – How Safe is my University (page 550 and scroll three times to the exercise) – but instead of analyzing Alfred State – analyze your organization/business/place of work from the viewpoint of a safety committee. If you do not have a place of work because you are only a student at this time, you may use a parent’s workplace, a significant other’s workplace, or a sibling’s workplace to analyze.
Be sure to ask permission and explain the purpose of this before conducting the audit.

Attach the completed form and answer the following questions in a word document from the data you gathered.
1. How many unsafe conditions did you identify?
2. Do you think these violate OSHA standards?
3. How could you go about checking? I have attached several examples of safety inspection sheets for you use.
4. Do you feel it is your responsibility to bring these to the attention of HR?
5. How can these conditions be corrected?
