Write a research paper addressing if the slope value result you obtained above makes sense in relation to the appearance of the line.Consider the four lines A, B, C, and D graphed above. You will be investigating one of the lines, the specific one depending on the first letter of your last name.
A-F: Line A
G-L: Line B
M-R: Line C
S-Z: Line D
Let’s get started
Based on what you have learned in this module about graphing on the Cartesian coordinate system, respond to the following prompts in your first, main post which should be between 200 and 400 words:
Give any two ordered pairs (x,y) that are on your line. Since there are no grid lines or numbering on the graph, you will be giving approximate, reasonable point values.
Compute the slope of the line connecting your two chosen points. Be sure to show how you arrived at your answer.
How would you describe, in words, the slope of your line? Does your slope value result above make sense compared to how the line looks?
What is the equation of your line? Give the equation in slope-intercept form. Show how you arrived at your answer.
What is the equation of the line perpendicular to your line? Show how you arrived at your answer.
Using Desmos (https://www.desmos.com/calculator)graph both your equation and the one perpendicular to it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEIOdi2R4fE) is a brief video tutorial on how to do that. Take a screenshot of your graphed lines and embed it in your post. Ideally, you would crop the image like the one above, showing just the graph. Here is how you crop an image in Windows and here is how you crop an image on a Mac.
How do you embed an image in your post? Once you have both images saved and are ready to post them, click on the image icon there in the tool palette.
