You may reference any other chapter in our course textbook as well. Using specific references to theory from your textbook, and any personal examples you feel comfortable sharing, address each of the areas identified below. Identify 2 emotions that are difficult for you to express and 2 emotions that are difficult when others express them to you. For each emotion, discuss: Why do you think these emotions are difficult for you to experience or respond to? How do you react physically and emotionally to these emotions? How might difficulty expressing this emotion impact your success in the workplace? (i.e., Relations with clients and coworkers?) How would you like to respond differently when experiencing this emotion in the future including strategies you could use to improve your communication skills in this area? ( PART B (worth 12.5 marks) This part of the assignment is an opportunity for you to reflect on your understanding of material from the course that pertains to your interpersonal style throughout the semester. It offers an opportunity to evaluate the growth you experienced in terms of self-awareness and interpersonal skills during the course and to consider areas for further development and growth. Throughout the course, capture changes, your growth, “ah ha!” moments, and things you’ve noticed. Make sure you somehow indicate the approximate timing of this change as well as what aspect of your learning (i.e., activity or class discussion) in this class contributed to it. INSTRUCTIONS Using self-reflection, specific references to theory from your text, and personal examples you feel comfortable sharing, address each of the areas identified below. You must include a minimum of 5 exercises/activities (e.g. “ah ha! moments) from 5 different classes that have influenced or contributed to your learning. Who were you at the beginning of the course and how has your sense of self changed or how have you grown over the semester? Reflect on any new facet of self-awareness that came from course content that lead to this change/growth. An indication of the source of this awareness (e.g. what activity/exercise/theoretical discussion and date this took place that led to this self-awareness). What has this meant for you in the context of your personal life; what about in the context of how you will develop into a professional helper?
