Long Essay: Suggested length that the average student needs to properly respond to long essay questions & cover all the prompts is approximately 500-800 words, but points are NOT BASED ON WORD COUNT…points are awarded for content quality & cogency, use of professional language (specific to anthropology and archaeology), readability, having clear connections to the course materials & by using specific examples from the course materials, and completeness.
Choose 2 case studies from the following list…and do a ‘peer-review’ of these studies by answering each of the questions below (A to E).

Case study peer-reviews should be written up separately.
Each of the lettered prompts below (A-E) must be in separate ‘paragraphs’ (paragraphs = at least one sentence, which may be the case if a study didn’t include any data related to the prompt). For example, “C: The researchers did not bring in any outside specialists”.
Stick to the outline below & letter your responses.
Your answers should be cogent and course specific, yet brief and to the point.
A. What were the case study’s themes and problem orientation/research questions (aka: what did the researchers want to know)?
B. What types of data did the archaeologists use for their case study (be specific)? Make sure to mention if the archaeologists had any issues utilizing specific data types and for what reason/s they had difficulties…in other words, why were some data not available to the archaeologists that would normally be used for archaeological research?
C. What types of outside specialists were brought into the project for special analyses, if any (be specific)?
D. What were the case study’s research outcomes (be specific)? Make sure to make connections between the researchers’ problem orientation/research questions and the study’s results.
E. In your opinion, what data/lines of evidence proved to be the most helpful or were the most effective for the researchers’ interpretations and conclusions…and why is this the case (be specific)?
