Identify how Golding uses metaphors to develop a central idea/theme for his readers. The minutia: Normally we would be writing a five-paragraph essay, but this will just be a four-paragraph essay. You will be required to have a thesis, three supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. You will identify a central idea or theme of Lord of the Flies. What do you think Golding’s message to the reader is? Once you have that, you will then research the metaphors within Lord of the Flies to show how this message is developed throughout the novel. Your supporting paragraphs must have a topic sentence, at least two pieces of evidence, two or more explanation sentences for those pieces of evidence, and a connection back to your thesis to explain why/how your paragraph proves your thesis. Your conclusion should summarize your thesis, and supporting arguments, and have a closer/wrap-up sentence. Formatting in attached file.
