Topic: The effects of screen time on youth.
REQUIREMENTS:
6 Paragraph Argumentative Research Essay
– Have a clear thesis statement with 3 reasons for your argument (it should be located in the beginning of your paper(last sentence of first paragraph).
– Choose a topic that you can argue/present information for BOTH sides (you must include a counterclaim/counterargument and state why this interpretation is not correct. Why is the argument better and the most correct?)
– Contain 3 reasons and quotes for why the reader should agree with your side of the argument.
– Include at least 1 credible source/quote from the counterclaim/counterargument side.
– Use 3-5 credible sources total for your research
-Use transition words throughout your portfolio when moving from one idea to the next/at the beginning of each paragraph.
– Have a conclusion where you rephrase your thesis statement, summarize the main parts of your argument, and say what people should do to learn more about this topic. What could someone do as a result of the research provided?
-NO first or second person pronouns (you, your, I, me, my, we, our, etc.)
– It needs to contain only present tense verbs
-It must include proper in-text MLA citations and a Works Cited page
-It should use correct English conventions (spelling, capitalization, punctuation, subject verb agreement, etc.)
