How is a persons attention span detected based on the timing it takes for a target to appear and then disappear is a question that I would like to test and get an answer to based on the majority of the people that run the experiment. I believe that the faster the the target diapers the less that a person’s attention span is to be detected and the more likely that they will get the target wrong. The visibility of certain things put on a timer can affect a persons attention span I believe.
The experiment:
Participants were asked to run a crowding experiment through psychopy where they are experimented on if they can get a target letter wrong or right. The first session that participants got tested on a duration of a 100ms meaning that the letter that appears would disappear at the rate of a 100ms. The second session was at 800ms. This was done to see the difference between each participants attention span based on the duration that it was set in.
The Eccentricity was set to 25 at all times. Letter font size was set to 26. Letter case was set to upper. Number of trials per condition was set to 3. Target color was set to red. The only thing that was changed was the duration which was set to 100ms in the first session and to 800ms on the second session. This was done to have no other influences but how fast a target disappears affects someone’s attention span.
In the Exel sheets attached is the results please discusses the results in the paper. There were 4 participants in total and each has a set of data for two sessions with their initials on it.
Your paper should include (1) a title/cover page with a running header. (2) An abstract summarizing the entire paper. (3) An introduction discussing what the topic is, what your questions are, outline of what you are planning to review (for example, evidence for or against) and hypotheses. (4) A results section with tables, graphs, descriiptive statistics. (5) A discussion where you summarize your findings and interpret them. You should also answer your research question or hypothesis, discuss limitations, future directions/ideas that can could help you answer the research question you set out to do. (6) A separate page with a bibliography.
Format The writing for the research paper should be simple, clear, and concise. Thus, you need to explain any terms that a non-expert individual would not know. The research paper should be about 5 pages long (double-spaced, 11–12-point font, standard fonts). The title page and bibliography count toward this minimum requirement. The paper should be written in APA format. You are also expected to use correct grammar and spelling
