Here and there, now and again they appear: women without a center, a core; women who do not connect with other people. They are evil; they may be charming, frightening, fascinating, repelling, but make no mistake they are classically evil. This is a story about such a woman, Sula Peace.” Do you agree with Toni Morrison’s description of her character? Do you view Sula as the embodiment of “evil?”. Is Nel “good”?
