Thesis Statement: Why did many of the soldiers do the My Lai Massacre? I assume that there are three potential factors that made them react as they did on that day.
Cause 1: [discipiline] The soldiers must follow the orders from their superiors.
Cause 2: [psychological reason] The intense fear and pressure of the war made the soldiers violent.
Cause 3: [aversion or anger at Vietnamese people/dehumanization] U.S. soldiers had dehumanized the Vietnamese people.jj
Ending sentence: As Americans continue to commemorate the war, the war should be remembered and questioned why it happened so that My Lai, the violent history that Americans bear does not occur again.
