In this week’s reading, we discussed details about deserts and dune shapes. For your Journal entry, please write a Journal of at least two pages in length (single spaced). Include a map showing the location of the desert along with the geologic age (BOTH – the geologic age of the surrounding rock and the age of the desert) and type of dunes that are present.
Describe the location, countrie(s), size, topography, dune types and size of the dunes, how long have these dunes been here?, has the area always been a desert? If not, why do you think it became one? Also take note of the present & past climate, how are these sandstones different from sandstones from a stream (cross-bedding, sorting, ripples, mineral grains etc), is this a typical desert? why or why not, and make sure to include maps/photos you feel would support your summary.
