The project parameters are as follows:
Students will be able to choose one of three case studies presented by the instructor, or utilize a current workplace/organization situation of their choosing. If they choose the latter, they are responsible for providing the background information regarding the situation as well as the outline that is due by Week 6 (Module 6). The case may either reflect a current issue, or a potential issue. All project submissions must include the following:
Identify issue/problem
Identify the decision maker(s) and their role/influence in making decisions
Analyze decision model that will be used
Review and select the decision making technique(s) that will be used to generate solution(s)
Collect and analyze relevant information, and identify solution(s)
Select the most appropriate solution(s)
At this point, if you have the authority to implement, do so. If not, recommend how the solution should be implemented and why. Analyze impact of the recommendation(s) on individuals, the organization, or any environmental, industry, societal and legal implications,
Evaluate the outcome and provide feedback (or provide an well researched, analytical recommendation of the potential outcome and feedback)
NOTE: Make sure all sources are properly cited in your project.
The level of comprehension and application of terminology, theories, models, etc. presented in the course and fulfillment of the learning objectives will be clearly reflected in the final project. The ultimate goal of this project is to reveal to students that they have acquired the theoretical and practical tools to effectively implement these decision making concepts in their organization.
