You will be completing three projects:   Project 1:  Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Ingest Form – As part of the HFA onboarding process, you have been asked to complete the HFA BYOD Ingest Form. This project is a two- to three-page form in which you catalog the specifications of your device. In Section 1, you will provide the specifications of your personal BYOD computing device. In Section 2, you will provide a brief description/explanation of the specifications of your device. You will learn about the specifications and capabilities of your machine in the process. This task will require you to investigate your machine’s internals. How you locate your system information will vary by operating system. Include a screenshot showing key system information. A template is provided. Your submission is due at the end of Week 3. Project 2: Desktop Migration Proposal – You have already gained management’s confidence in the brief time you have been at HFA. Your manager just briefed you on the plan to modernize the existing PCs at the Los Angeles headquarters offices of HFA. You have been asked to research the purchase of 50 new PCs, with the requirement to replace all existing desktops with laptops. Additionally, the laptops must support multiple external monitors, additional peripherals via USB 3.0, physical security mechanisms, and quick disconnect from the office environment. This project is a three- to four-page business proposal in which you catalog the specifications of your device. You will complete the project in two sections. In Section 1, you will provide your recommended device model(s), and in Section 2, you will use a “configurator” to detail the specifications. You should carefully document any assumptions made (e.g., how you analyzed the requirement for upgrading monitors, peripherals devices, etc.). You should include one to two quality IEEE references. A template is provided. Your submission is due at the end of Week 5. Project 3: Support Queue Case Study – You have entered the final phase of your training program and are eager to get started supporting customers. Your Level III support supervisor has assigned you to a temporary support queue and has asked that you choose six tickets, work them to resolution, and provide a report of your findings by the end of the day. You will choose the six tickets you work, two each from the easy, medium, and hard categories. You will present your solutions in an annotated five- to 10-slide presentation in which you will detail your troubleshooting methodology, how you solved each ticket, and what elements you found challenging. You should include at least one high-quality graphic, use one or more tables to present information, and use one to two quality IEEE references. A template is provided. Your submission is due at the end of Week 7. To learn more, read the job offer letter from HFA below. Source: UMGC Welcome to Hudson Fisher Associates!
