You have been assigned as the quality manager of a chain of burrito restaurants in San Diego. You are new to the job, so as your initial assignment, you will create run charts, X-bar, and R-charts for critical quality metrics of three different burrito chains in San Diego. Complete the following:
Sort the dataset and identify three burrito restaurant chains that have more than 10 locations.
Create run charts and control charts for burrito length, circumference, volume, and overall customer rating scores. Briefly describe key observations and “take-aways” from these charts.
After creating these charts, consider if these are the optimal dimensions to be used for controlling quality. If they are, describe how you might control them as quality manager.
Identify one additional quality metric you could employ to manage overall burrito quality in your restaurant chain. Briefly summarize your identified metric and provide an example in the form of a run chart and control chart.
