Final Project Overview:
You will conduct an eight-hour service-learning project during the course of this class. There are no restrictions on the places you can choose to volunteer except that it cannot be your current place of employment, and it must be an organization. Examples of appropriate places include but are not limited to ARC, animal rescue organization, Boys & Girls Club, the local library, a local school, a church, or a for-profit business or organization (similar to an internship). You are to analyze the organization and pay particular attention to a leader’s leadership (and/or management) style during the service-learning activity. Upon completion of the 8 hours, you will write an in-depth research paper where you discuss the organization (using multiple sources), your activities with the organization, the leadership styles and/or traits you witnessed (and a discussion of each style), and their effectiveness while present during your service-learning project.
This week’s assignment:
In this final paper checkpoint, please discuss the organization you will use for your volunteer activity. In a one to two-page paper, outline the chosen organization and give background and history of the organization. Describe why the organization was chosen and what you hope to gain from this project.
