Paper two will be a Reflection Paper. In order to complete this paper, you need the poem or short story you will write about. No outside source is required. You must quote or paraphrase from the poem or short story you are writing about and provide a works cited page for the work (a citation for the work can be found on page two of this module). You are encouraged to personally connect to the poem or short story you are writing about, so you will use the narrative style of writing, which uses the pronoun “I.”
Your paper about must have five things/parts:
1. An introduction (one paragraph, where you introduce your topic)
2. A thesis (this is the last sentence of your introduction)
3. Body paragraphs (these paragraphs develop your thesis)
4. Conclusion (one paragraph, where you bring your paper to a close)
5. A works Cited page
This is the topic I want you to write about: 1. In Chapter 1 of The House on Mango Street, we meet Esperanza. Esperanza craves a home that she can “point to.” Esperanza’s desire to have a home that she can be proud of reflects the desire of other children who find themselves living in poverty. Can you relate to Esperanza in any way? Explain.
