In this reading you will see that “People usually can smell hydrogen sulfide at low concentrations in air ranging from 0.0005 to 0.3 parts per million ” (0.3ppm)—this is your threshold.

Next, to answer the below questions visit the TCEQ website to identify if H2S was at or above 0.3ppm in Beaumont, Texas. You might have to covert ppm to ppb. Google has converters.
