Overview: According to the Habley text, in 2009 the average four-year private institution spent about $2143 per student to recruit them to campus. In this assignment, students will create 2-year budget for the admissions office of a mid-size private university in the Midwest seeking to attract a class of 1000 students. Instructions: Using the parameters noted above, we are asking you to create a 2 million dollar budget that includes all the direct costs associated with recruiting students (staff, materials, call centers, travel, etc.). Here is some additional information that will assist you in creating a budget: Utilize Habley, pages 80 – 82, as a resource for this assignment. Create your budget in a excel spreadsheet or word document Your budget should have 10 or more line items and include staff salaries. Other line items could include material, travel, student workers, postage, website development and maintenance, recruiting fairs. Create a budget for two separate years and propose an increase in year 2. Your increase needs to be in an area you feel will help to increase the student yield. Make a case below your budget in narrative form (1-page) for the increase you proposed in your year 2 budget.
