1. Chosen process to automate – Minimum of 10 steps or processes.
2. Write the manual or mechanical process steps using action word to describe each step. Do a flow chart.
3. Convert the manual/mechanical process to automated process by adding modern technologies so that it can be automated
– Example manual/ mechanical can opener to automated can opener
– Using a fork lift to a robot or automated fork lift.
– Do another flow chart to match the automated process.
4. Make a list of the technological equipment or processes that you have chosen. These will be your Outputs.
5. List switches or sensors or other inputs that you are going to use.
