Submit a one-page learning map summarizing their learning drawing on concepts presented in class, mapping out the different stops on their learning journey. based off the following learning objectives; Catalog Course Description An introduction to intersectional leadership principles and strategy. This will be an experiential course focused on bringing in theory, real life scenarios, case studies and leaning into uncomfortable conversation in service of building a leadership presence and communication strategy where all voices are valued. There will be active integration of theory with practice and we will co create new ways of learning from each other. Embodied leadership practices will be integrated. We will focus on ways to support professional and personal growth for those spearheading leadership coaching and change management work in organizations on the journey of social justice. We will look at intersectionality and equity lenses to support ongoing leadership development. We will review and assess the pros and cons of organizational structures including hierarchical and distributed leadership. We will survey and engage with principles of emotional intelligence, adaptive and technical change and trauma repair as tools for coaching. To gain an understanding of intersectional leadership practices that support intentional and successful relationships. To integrate intersectional thinking into leadership coaching for success. To facilitate communication changes on a personal and professional level. To create a coaching roadmap or resource journal for future reference with tips and tools for embodied leadership towards social justice goals To synthesize and apply key concepts in the form of instructor, student and group led experiential exercises. To integrate theory and practice with interactive, self-directed group case study.
