Take a specific event or phenomenon and analyze it using a variety of sources. Your thesis should be an argument that is focused on how that event was culturally reflected, engaged with, or challenged.
This can be done in a number of ways. You can:
i. Argue that the event was represented, experienced, or reacted to by different groups in society in different cultural ways and then support that thesis by using various cultural texts.
ii. Argue that an event that is not necessarily ‘cultural’ by nature had a cultural impact or response and then support that thesis by drawing connections between cultural texts and broader historical context.
