A clear rationale should be provided for all your exercise choices. The presentation will also include evidence of completion of tasks relating to fitness testing, training, coaching and exercise design that are covered in the practical sessions of the module. Introduction Your exercise choices should suit the needs of a specific athlete. Therefore, a brief needs analysis of the requirements of the sport the athlete is training for should be provided. You may wish to also include a description of any movement/ postural issues found during screening. Stage 1: This is based on an exercise of your choice. Provide a rationale, based on evidence for your exercise choice. Provide images or videos that indicate correct technique for an exercise. Provide teaching points for the exercise that would allow the athlete to complete the exercise independently. Discuss problems athletes might have performing the exercise correctly and suggest reasons for hypothetical incorrect technique. Provide coaching points that might correct those issues and discuss longer term solutions to improve technique. Stage 2: This should be based on a regressed (scaled) version of the original exercise: Discuss and demonstrate how you would coach your client through one or several regressed versions of the original exercise that would allow the client to progress to the original exercise. Provide a rationale for the exercise choice(s) based on the needs of the athlete or the sport. Stage 3: This should be based on an advanced version of the original exercise: Discuss and demonstrate how you would coach your client through one or several advanced versions of the original exercise that would allow the client to progress to the original exercise. Provide a rationale for the exercise choice(s) based on the needs of the athlete or the sport. Stage 4: Provide evidence for: Conducting an athlete/ client consultation The design of a RAMP protocol warm up The completion of a postural screening The planning of a flexibility/ mobility exercises The planning of stability and proprioception exercises The completion of a cardiovascular fitness test The completion of a resistance-based fitness test The completion of a speed or change of direction test.
