What factors contribute to opioid misuse among young adults?Conduct a literature search and identify six scholarly journal articles in your topic area. Complete the literature matrix template (I can send this template) using these six journal articles. Please note each area must be completed. If it is not applicable write N/A. After completing the literature matrix, you will write a four to six page synthesis of the articles you could think of this as a small-scale literature review. This is how this paper should be organized: Introduction: The introduction should establish the context of the paper for your reader. Introduce your reader to the topic/question prompting the literature review. Then offer your reader a purpose/forecasting statement that tells them what you will do in this paper it would be wise to share how the review is organized (see below). By the end of the introduction, the reader should understand your topic, why it is important, and what this paper does (for example, reviews five articles addressing three themes related to the topic). Body: In the body of the paper, you will present your findings to the reader organized in a meaningful way. This means you do NOT write about article 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 independently and in order. Because this paper is a synthesis, your job is to find a way to organize the articles and discuss how the findings from each article speak to one another. There are many ways to organize a synthesis or small-scale literature review and how you do that will depend on what you find. I recommend organizing your findings into themes. The themes might overlap and you may find yourself discussing the same article for more than one theme and that is ok. Thus, in the body of the paper, present your findings to the reader. If you identified three themes, I would write one to two paragraphs for each theme. Have a topic sentence that identifies the theme and then discuss the articles that fall under that theme compare, contrast, and connect the article to the theme and to one another. Conclusion: In the conclusion, you will summarize the findings for the reader. This is your chance to highlight for the reader the information that was particularly helpful in shedding light on your research question/topic. Try to connect your findings back to the context of the general topic of study that you identified in the introduction. Part III: Reference List Include an APA 7 style reference list. While you are only including 6 articles in the matrix, you might use other articles to inform your introduction or some other portion of the paper — these articles would need to go on your References list but would not need to be included in the literature matrix.Show more
