Write a proposal for an historical research paper. Your historical research paper will investigate a moment of transition in American film animation history that we have studied in class (e.g., the beginning of American animation, the rise of the special effects blockbuster, the whitewashing of American film and television animation during the 40s-60s, etc.) It will include a study of 1-2 films screened in class that represent your chosen moment. The proposal should identify the topic, object(s) of study (e.g., films), research question, source(s) of evidence, and explain how you intend to go about the research process. A good proposal will have a narrow focus. To help narrow your topic, ask the questions who, what, where, when, and why something happened as it did.
