Review Competency 8 in the NLN Core Competencies of Nurse Educators with Task Statements in your Billings and Halstead textbook beginning on page 10: Box 1-1 National League for Nursing Nurse Educator Competencies (2012).
Review Chapter 17 Multicultural Education in Nursing. Billings, D. M., & Halstead, J. A. (2020). Teaching in nursing: A guide for faculty (6th ed.). Elsevier Saunders.

Why do educators tend to “teach how they were taught” and what are the pitfalls of this?

How do we address collegial diverse teaching differences in a respectful way? Integrate the NLN Core Competency for Nurse Educators number 8 in your response. Discuss how students will notice a difference in approaches, and it could be upsetting to their expectations of education as they “prefer” one approach or teacher over another.

How will you support your colleagues and facilitate learner engagement?
Think about a previous learning experience in a classroom you had for something related to nursing and explain how you would transform this into an inclusive learning experience. Include content from both the teaching and learning perspective.
