DBQ Environmental Sociology 1. React to the required videos. What was the information you already knew? What was new? How did It make you feel? Why do you think there is a whole field of sociology dedicated to the environment? (75 word min) 2. Use the sociological imagination to describe how climate change represents both a private trouble and a public issue (refer to week 1-2 to refresh your definition of the sociological imagination).(100 word min no max)
**If you don’t think you are directly impacted by climate change, please put yourself in the shoes of any of the groups of people mentioned in this week’s required materials.** E’s example: One private trouble I am experiencing is the lack of recycling resources near my home. Because of this if I want to recycle I have to travel by car to a recycling center/landfill site. Having to take my recycling to the plant is time, money, and energy consuming for me (private trouble). However, many people experience this issue (public issue) because of the lack of access to recycling facilities/poor infrastructure surrounding waste.
