The paper is an opportunity to showcase yourself as a leader. The audience for the paper is a business person or other individual who may help further your career. There are numerous areas where appropriate self promotion will further your goals; few people self promote well. Consider what will be effective and appropriate. The paper is a difficult assignment largely because you need to grab the reader’s interest quickly in a way that is not translated as bragging. Consider the use of metaphors, class material, story telling, and other creative techniques to hook the reader. Your paper should be engaging, error free, graphically pleasing, clear, and concise. Sentence fragments and run-on sentences are unacceptable in formal graduate level writing. The best papers are written, edited, and rewritten numerous times. Exercise care to not overuse the word ‘I’.
