I have a Drug information question “For pediatric patients with ADHD, what are the adverse effects on linear growth (height) of CNS stimulant medications?”
The assignment involves researching articles/ studies that are primary literature (Randomized Controlled Trial, Meta Analysis/Systematic Review). The response to the Drug information question should be based upon critical evaluation of cited literature. The paper should have at least 2 primary studies. I have one attached to this email which is meta analysis and systematic review.
The paper should have the following:
Objective – What the audience will achieve or learn. It should be discrete and measurable using words like “recall”, “identify”, “recognize”, “remember” etc.
Background information – what do the audience need to know before the question makes sense? Briefly discuss the disease state which in this case is ADHD and the treatment options which are CNS stimulants and their pharmacology and Mechanism of Action and how that relates to adverse effects which have an effect on growth/height.
For each primary study – you should have the following
Methods – study aim
Inclusion and Exclusion criteria specific to that study
Review Outcomes
Data Analysis – only discuss/analyze data that is relevant to the question and make sure you have graphs, tables, images from the study. You can create your own version of the data from the study to make it simple and easy to understand
Discuss Results – data, tables, images relevant to the question that will help answer the question . I need screenshots of the data you are discussing or creating your own table based on the data table provided in study to emphasize areas of interest that will help answer the question.
Discussion
Critique – limitations and strengths of studies
At the end a conclusion – what is your final recommendation based on these studies and answer the question based on what the primary study is telling.
