Explain how did the Civil War affect access to public education for black children in the South?
Your paper must be 5-10 pages of writing (i.e., not counting your bibliography), in correct MLA formatting, and cite at least five sources. You are free to use any piece from our textbooks; three of your sources must be from secondary peer-reviewed journals or edited collections (Kreiser & Allred’s The Civil War in Popular Culture counts), and at least two sources must have derived from your own research (i.e., a source you were not assigned in class). Two of your sources must be primary sources.
