What constitutes a religious satire, and how may it be used in a research paper?Each option requires 2 things: A creative piece of satire An artist’s statement explaining the satirical purpose and techniques used Option 1: Satirical News Article, Essay, or Video Reflect on your society and identify something or someone–a social issue, a policy or practice, an individual in a position of power–that you think deserves some criticism and needs to change in some way. Create a satirical piece ala The Onion, “A Modest Proposal,” and/or a segment from The Daily Show or a sketch from SNL. Along with your example of satire, provide an artist’s statement explaining your choices. Who or what did you choose to satirize? Why? What about that thing do you think needs to change? How did you choose to satirize it? What techniques did you use? Why do you think your satire is effective?
