Submit your Acid Base practical write-up for formative feedback here by 12PM Monday 30th October 2023.Instructions: Submit a short report of the Acid Base experiment carried out on Monday 23rd October (750 words +/- 10%). Your report must contain the following:Informative titleShort introduction (~250 words)This section must contain a brief statement about why acid/base balance is important for life i.e., biology and include the biological significance of hydrochloric acid (HCl).Define what an acid base titration is i.e., focus on the chemistry. You must include the basis of pH indicators.Remember to cite in the text and create a bibliography (Harvard style). The introduction should lead on to the aim of the investigation (determine the concentration of ‘unknown HCl solution’ using a universal indicator made from red cabbage).Brief description of the method (~100 words)Synthesize the lab protocol into a brief prose written in the past tense. DO NOT rewrite the step-by-step protocol provided. Results (~150 words)You should include a brief textual description of the findings (incl. calculation in appendix and cross reference)Include table or figure of the findings and cross-reference this appropriately in the narrative.Short discussion (~250 words)You need to interpret the results and reflect on what the data gathered means i.e., how do the results relate to the aim and rationale for the experiment set out in the introduction. Use the literature to understand the biological / chemical significance of your results and cite in the text (Harvard style).Suggest limitations and improvements, which must be substantiated by literature citations (Harvard style).Include a brief conclusion.Reference list (6 – 8 references) In the documents below you can see an example of a mock lab report from another experiment so you can know the structure of the work. I´m also sending some powerpoints from the lectures and excel document with all calculations done in the lab experiment and also the results from it.
