Texts to analyze: Sophocles’ Antigone AND Athol Fugard, John Kani, and Winston Ntshona’s The Island. What to write? Your paper should examine the significance of Antigone, the heroine of Sophocles’ Antigone, for the black prisoners in The Island and their fight against the apartheid regime of South Africa. An effective title – An introductory paragraph (or paragraphs) with your thesis in the end, or near the end, of the paragraph – at least 4 body paragraphs, each with a topic sentence that introduces the point of the paragraph.
