Write an Essay discussing Plato’s Republic, Book V using at least two examples of textual evidence and at least one reference to the Video Lecture. This essay may should focus on Plato’s discussion of one of following topics that appear in the text: a) the equality of women, b) the practice of infanticide, c) his theory of eugenics, or d) the religious-sex rites that Plato outlines in Book V. The Essay should demonstrate a college-level command of standard composition, using University of Chicago Manual of Style, with a minimum of three footnotes. The essay should be between 300-500 words, typed double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font or its equivalent. This Essay should be submitted in PDF form. This Essay does not require any consultation with secondary sources, and the student should focus on the primary reading of the unit and the Video Lecture.
