AAPINH identity, ethnicity, culture and race in the real-world context are showcased. Examine critically the content and context of ways that
Asian Americans are represented in the media and how they represent themselves through film, video, television, and on the internet. Create
commentary and intervention into negative portrayals of Asian Americans in the media. Explore issues surrounding the media piece and how
it relates to our course content. It should be on one of the topics from Weeks 1-15. Must be written in third person; No “I” “we”. Cannot be
just a summary of the interview. Must be APA format. Questions to think about: How does the media content help you develop a strong sense
of understanding Asian Americans in the media? You must include other reputable or contemporary sources when doing the following in
your analysis paper: Identify, analyze, critique, and expanded upon social, political, and economic hierarchies grounded in race, ethnicity,
gender, sexuality, class, indigeneity, and nationality. Analyze the power dynamics from the micro-level to the macro-level of social
institutions. Keep to 1-3 major themes.
