Why
The purpose of this exercise is to pragmatically apply the skills of costs benefit analysis. Due to the varying levels of experience with CBA, these skills will be applied to a life decision, pursuing a DSW, rather than a policy or program. Although you will be applying these skills to your decision to pursue a DSW, they are parallel to skills you would use in analyzing a policy or program.
What
Use the steps of costs benefit analysis to reconstruct your decision to pursue a Doctor of Social Work. Delineate your measures or indicators of costs and benefits. Present this information in a simple table using the example from Smart sheet’s Links to an external site.An Expert Gide to Cost-Benefit Analysis Links to an external site., section six, how to calculate costs and benefits as a guide.
In no more than three to four paragraphs discuss (a) which measures were easily quantifiable and which were more qualitative, (b) how you assigned relative weights or degree of importance to each of the costs and benefits, and (c) what the shortcomings are of this method and potential strategies to mitigate these shortcomings.

This assignment is incorporated into your participation grade which is 20% of the course. There are no right or wrong strategies in completing this assignment, it will be graded based on completion of the assignment (i.e., table delineating costs and benefits, and summary addressing the questions delineated above).
