INSTRUCTIONS: The essay will consist firstly of a writing project of between 3,000 – 3,500 words emerging from one of the topics listed above. The 500 word personal statement will amount to an account of and a reflection on the writing project explaining, for example, why you chose to focus on specific texts from the module and not on others, why you took the approach you did, what difficulties you encountered in the course of the writing project, what you found most surprising and what you have enjoyed most about working on your chosen topics and texts.
