It is difficult to find a company that is fully staffed and can provide excellent customer service or one that has sufficient goods on hand they can sell to consumers. Instead of the slow and steady climb toward a borderless, digital society, businesses have suddenly found themselves forced to adapt to survive. As an MBA scholar and Human Resources Director, you will take the first steps in devising a Retention and Hiring Initiative to create a competitive advantage once it is launched.
Guidelines:
You will begin the Retention and Hiring Initiative by describing the current situation many businesses found themselves in during the pandemic. Then, you will perform an environmental scan of the job market to understand why so many vacancies have been challenging to fill and to uncover what employers are doing about it. While conducting your research, focus on the specific items below.
Analysis:
• What does the current employment environment look like?
• Which service sectors have been negatively impacted the most and why?
• Why are so many employees resigning or refusing to return to their previous employer?
• How have employers been promoting their vacancies and how long are they taking to fill?
