This week, you will find a case that violates the Nurse Practice Act (NPA) from the state in which the violation occurred. The Texas Board of Nursing is very transparent about RN’s who have violated the NPA. You may access the following Texas Board of Nursing – Discipline & Complaints – Disciplinary Actions. When you click on one of the links, it will then list the names and license numbers of Texas nurses who have disciplinary actions (e.g. suspension, revoked). In that list clicking on the license number will take you to a page where you can download additional information (specifics of the Nurse Practice Act – NPA – infractions). How to Brief a Case is a reference or guide in determining what elements are to be considered in your case brief (this is only an example so that you may see what is relevant to include.) The paper must include Introductory paragraph that addresses key elements of the nurse practice act and focus on the areas of violation from the case being discussed.
