Compare how two different sources cover the same news story. One of your media sources is provided and the other may be from an either right- or left-leaning news outlet/publication.
1. First identify the newsworthy event (2 sources I included below) explain why you chose it. Were you aware of it before this assignment, and if so, what did you already know? If you had no knowledge of it, why not?
2. Identify the two additional media pieces you’ve chosen(2 sources I included below). Provide as much information as you can about each of them (authors/reporters, publication/network and its target audience, medium (print, video, audio), length of piece, types of content included (images, interviews, etc.).
3. After addressing point 2 above, for each of the sources provide an overview of the key points being made about the news event, followed by a discussion of the types of appeals being used in the source.
4. Given the intended target audience and purpose, how effective do you think each source’s content is?
