The nature-versus-nurture debate is alive and well when it comes to leaders. Some argue that leaders are born and naturally possess leadership skills that motivate others under their leadership. Others maintain that leaders are made in terms of skill and technique development. If leaders are born, that would translate to leadership reserved for only a few of us. Regardless of the debate conclusion, morality in leadership is integral to leadership success.
Clarity of expectations is key to effective leadership as well. It serves as the foundation to assess, evaluate, and provide feedback based on expectations. Feedback is important in order for those involved in any effort to know if they are on the right track. It is also important for purposes of adjustments that might be needed in order to meet or exceed expectations.
Class below are three “prompts.” These prompts are just to get your minds thinking. In other words I give you great latitude. For this discussion I would like for you to consider:
Whether leaders are born or made, based on research.
The implications of leaders being born rather than made.
How the actions of leaders, specific to values and goals, affect what individuals do within an organization.
Notice there are essentially questions I ask you in order for you to get your head wrapped around the topic. When you write your response there is no need to write the question and answer it separately or to answer every single question. Write a discussion, a brief 150 to 200 word
