New Testament: This is the collection of 27 books that make up the canon of the New Testament. I am open to suggestions of what you might want to examine, but you will choose either an historical/cultural event or practice, a particular healing or exorcism by Jesus, a teaching or literary technique by one of the Gospel writers. Here are some examples

Myth and Science: Are there medical or scientific analysis and information on this method of Roman execution? How did Jesus die?
Myth and Religion: What Christian (and maybe specifically Catholic) rituals retell and relive these events leading up to Jesus death? What role does this story play in Christian theology?
Myth and Structure: How do we see the narrative structure of a dying (and rising/returning) God figure in other myths and stories? What tensions and oppositions are resolved in this story?
