TEACHER’S INSTRUCTION:
Over the course of this class, we have covered 5 units of art history that are historically divided. For your final assignment, I am asking that you pick the unit you liked the best and write a three-page paper on it. You are required to have an introduction paragraph that explains your paper, two paragraphs about artworks you liked (one for each paragraph), and one paragraph about an artwork you did not like. This assignment does not require any outside research.
Paper outline
Paragraph 1: Thesis paragraph- In this paragraph, explain what Unit you are using and why, list the three artworks, and explain which ones you like and which ones you do not like.
Paragraph 2: First artwork you like. Give me the historical information about the artwork- who made it? what culture is it from? what kind of artwork is it: (painting, sculpture- and bring in some formal analysis here), what purpose did it have? Then explain why you like it.
Paragraph 3: Same as paragraph 2, except for a different work of art.
Paragraph 3: Artwork you don’t like. Give me the same information as you have for the previous artworks, then tell me why you do not like it.
