In this paper you will be asked to thoroughly analyze a Dominican artist or an artistic group/collective discussed over the course of the class (or your own pick as longas it is Dominican Hip-Hop artist based), or analyze a specific them that we covered in the class. Your Final Research paper should use both the class materials and the data obtained from the interviews. Finally, your research paper should discuss how it illustrates/integrates at least two of the specific goals and objectives set for this class.
Objectives & Goals:
Remember at all time that complex racial, ethnic, class and gender dynamics/identifiers have shaped the experience of Dominicans in Hip-Hop.
Be aware of the specific ethno-racial and cultural contexts of New York Hip-Hop that may have marginalized Dominicans, particularly during the 1970’s and 1980’s.
I will provide the information from the interview and outside sources can be used for the paper.
