Present an argument related to the ideas present in Robert Boynton’s article “The Tyranny of Copyright?”, Jonah Lehrer’s “Groupthink,” or the Prologue to “Literary Couplings: Writing Couples, Collaborators, and the Construction of Authorship” edited by Marjorie Stone. Boynton’s article considers the value of appropriation as a driver of creativity, one that should or shouldn’t be regulated by copyright rules in a certain way. Lehrer’s considers the value of collaboration in creation, and the many different ways that collaboration may or may not succeed. The Prologue for “Literary Couplings” presents a contrast of examples on the idea of authorship and collaboration in our time.
