As we know, our population is aging (meaning more and more people are living longer and thus, making up a growing percentage of our total population)
For this paper (which should be three pages long double-spaced I want you to reflect on what it means to “age” in America.
Do you feel the current social “nets” that are in place, are able to support a growing aging population? (i.e. Social security, medicaid, retirement, etc)
What struggles are our senior citizens facing as they get older?
How does American culture impact aging (i.e. it is typical for people to send their aging parents to nursing homes, nursing homes are quite expensive and becoming harder to afford, this has created a sandwhich generation where multiple generations are now living under one roof) What strain does this place on the American family?
