Three (3) Academic/Scholarly Journal Articles
One (1) Source of your choice (book chapter, academic/scholarly journal article, documentary, interview, etc.) This source must pass the CRAAP Test in order to be a reliable, substantive source
One (1) Connection to Noah’s memoir: connect to Noah’s book in the introduction of the essay (if possible, make more than one connection to the book throughout your essay).
In order to get the sources you have to go to the Modesto Junior College website,click the icon that says “library”, then click
articals and databases and then you choose the topic for the
sources of your choosing that relates to the book”born a crime” . The book mostly talks about discrimanation. If you dont want
to read the whole book you could read chapters 1-3 and it gives enough info. You can choose whatever topic you would want to write about for the argumentive essay but just as long as it refers back to the book. You coukd find the whole book online for
free. Its called “born a crime” by Trevor Noah.
Some of the broad topics that you could use for essays 3 are the criminal justice system, social policies, cultural norms, language, identity, education, wealth distribution, working-class, capitalism, religion, racial biases, historical events, technology, social media, empathy, nutrition/access to healthy foods, transportation, agriculture, housing, to name a few.
