The writing assignment for this course is a research paper exploring some aspect of the political status of women in the world. This can be a case study or a cross-national quantitative analysis; the U.S. can be included in a cross-national survey but not used as a case study. The paper will be typed, double-spaced, and a minimum of 9-10 pages in length (excluding the bibliography). It should be analytical and not simply descriptive in nature; original research (interviews, statistical analysis, etc.) is encouraged.
