This is History of Early Childhood Education
ECE 732( class) and we discussed the often uncomfortable truths of history, the mis-education of young children, the hidden histories, and the repeated “others” in history. We discussed best practice, nature schools, democratic schools, play schools, and factory schools. There were times you may have felt empowered, ashamed, confused, confirmed, and questioned… all things that were okay to feel.
THIS IS WHAT I WANT THE WRITER TO DO ( Think back to the beginning of the semester, we started by asking ourselves about our own early childhood histories and how that may have shaped the teachers we have become. Now, you are being challenged to grapple with how the history of Early Childhood is still inter-playing with our current realities (future histories) in Early Childhood Education. I ask you to make clear, focused, and explicit connections to a specific current issue or closely connected cluster issues that are important to an area of your interest and/or educational settings. My hope is that this will in some way connect your learning in ECE 732 (pioneer project, timeline assignments, time period presentations, etc.) to your line of research, advocacy, or practitioner expertise area in a meaningful way. I envision many of these final papers being transformed to joint articles / publications).
I will upload the file that I worked on it during the semester so you can have some background about this source.
Notice
Own early childhood history, she did not like it because it did not include my school history.
