I did a small presentation on this topic already for this class so if you could follow what I presented that would be great (I attached a paper that I started for this topic too so you can use that to get a feel for the direction). For the background I discussed the location and tectonic plates in the area. Then the main body was the formation of the back-arc basin (which is what formed the sea), however the rifting/ spreading that formed the sea is now inactive. So that kinda goes over the evolution. Then why is this topic important, back arc basins have deep ventilation and the rifting than halting created a semi enclosed sea with large basins that is a great habitat for sea life. Many countries use the sea for fishing so the tectonics created an environment good for economy. The professor wants lots of good figures (with captions) and data/ detail.
