Interview someone in a role play format. Do not just fill this out on your own. The reason for this is there are some personal questions which can be awkward, and it gets tedious to ask someone all of this information. Practicing with a “client” will give you empathy for the process rather than just rushing through and checking the boxes. You are welcome to pair up with someone in class and interview each other or use a family or friend. Do NOT share any REAL information (all info should be fictional) and to be safe, leave the SSNs empty. To make it easier on your friend or family member, assign them a role (single parent w 2 kids making minimum wage, two-parent household with 3 kids, one has a disability so one parent stays home, etc.).

Part 1: Upload the application as an attachment. DO NOT TAKE SCREENSHOTS OF 20 pages and upload them all separately. It all must be in one attachment. If you don’t have access to a scanner, you can take screen shots and put them into a Word/PDF doc. Some students even have apps that will make their photos one PDF and there are apps that will scan documents that you can email to yourself to then upload to this assignment. If you upload multiple pictures as separate attachments, it won’t get graded. (2 points)
Part 2: Either upload an attachment or use the text box to reflect on the process (two detailed paragraphs). Tell me who you interviewed and what they thought of the application questions. Was it intrusive, tedious, appropriate etc.? Be sure to include your feelings on how difficult or easy this process was. If you decided to become a social worker or other helping professional, how comfortable are you with filling out this kind of form and asking personal questions about finances? (8 points)
